Henry Cavill addresses Justice League mustache controversy

Henry Cavill has some words about the ongoing mustache controversy surrounding the Justice League reshoots.
Cavill posted a pointed and rather funny photo on Instagram responding to a recent Variety report that suggested the post-production team on Justice League would have to digitally remove the mustache Cavill grew for a role in Mission Impossible 6, which is also filming right now. Variety’s story led to several memes and video mockups of Cavill sporting the mustache as Superman.
This isn’t the first time that Cavill has teased his role. Last August, he teased a photo of a black Superman costume, sparking rumors about his character’s involvement in Justice League. It was the closest hint fans received from the actor that Justice League would incorporate certain elements of “The Death of Superman" comic mini-series, which ran between 1992 and 1993.
Unfortunately, we don’t know much more about Superman’s involvement — and probably won’t until closer to the release date. The trailer Warner Bros. brought to SDCC seems to hint that Superman’s death — and inevitable return — will be a big part of the movie. Hopefully, the next trailer will give us our first look at Superman back in action.
Justice League will be released on Nov. 17.
