New York police officer Wenjian Liu became a father despite being murdered in 2014, after his widow was inseminated with the frozen sperm of her husband,whom he had married three months before his death

Pei Xia Chen gave birth on Monday afternoon at a hospital in the Big Apple to Angelina, who weighed six pounds, after freezing the sperm of Wenjian Liu shortly after he was killed, local press reports.

Liu, 32, was killed along with his partner Rafael Ramos, 40, while they were inside his patrol in the Brooklyn district on December 20, 2014, and both were declared heroes by the authorities.

He was also accompanied by Maria Dziergowski, widow of officer Matthew Dziergowski, murdered in 1999 by a drunk driver and who was three months pregnant with her second child when her husband died.

The baby is adorable. He has a lot of black hair," Dziergowski told The New York Post.
